Resident Parking

Each Courtyards resident is eligible to park their car in the community for free. All vehicles must be registered to the resident or the resident’s parents/guardian.  Residents must obtain a parking pass prior to parking in the Courtyards and must park legally following all posted parking regulations. Parking registration must be renewed for each lease year.

Be advised: The Department of Transportation will issue tickets and/or tow inappropriately parked vehicles 24-hours a day, 7 days a week using the same enforcement guidelines as all other campus lots. All complaints and appeals regarding parking enforcement are handled by the University of Maryland Department Of Transportation Services. Information is available online at www.dots.umd.edu or by calling x4-PARK.

Parking Permits

All residents parking a vehicle at The Courtyards may do so at no additional cost.  However, each vehicle must be registered with the Management Office prior to parking on site.  The Courtyards parking is enforced by the University of Maryland Department of Transportation Services. Each resident may only register one (1) vehicle with The Courtyards.  Parking is enforced utilizing Digital License Plate Recognition vehicles, meaning no physical hang tags are distributed or required.

To register a vehicle with The Courtyards, the resident may visit the Management Office during normal business hours of 9 AM to 5 PM Monday through Friday.  A valid drivers license and original state vehicle registration form must be provided.  Residents may only register their own regular-use vehicle.

Courtyards parking for residents is identified as Lot 8.  Residents must re-register their vehicle at the start of each lease year.  Changes to vehicle registration requires appropriate documentation.  Frequent changes may result in a charge.

Resident bicycles may be parked at any bike rack in the Courtyards Community.  Residents must register their bicycles with the University of Maryland and then with the Courtyards.  Guests may park their bicycles at the Clubhouse bike racks for up to one hour.
